IPL 2025 Final between RCB and PBKS
For the first time in 18 years of IPL history, two teams without a single title Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) will battle it out in the IPL 2025 Final. No matter who wins tonight at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, a new name will finally be etched on the trophy.
The story isn’t just about the teams it’s about two captains who turned rejection into redemption.
Rajat Patidar From Replacement to RCB Captain
Three years ago, Rajat Patidar wasn’t picked in the IPL auction. Disheartened, he had planned to get married. But then came the unexpected call RCB wanted him as a replacement. With his family’s support, Patidar put his wedding on hold and joined the team.
Fast forward to 2025: he’s now the captain of RCB and has led them to their first-ever IPL final. It’s a fairy-tale rise that has won the hearts of fans across India.
Shreyas Iyer From Title Winning Captain to a 26.75 Cr Bid
Last year, Shreyas Iyer captained Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to the IPL title. But in a shock move, he was released before the 2025 season. When he went into the auction, PBKS head coach Ricky Ponting reportedly told the management, “Get him, no matter the cost.”
PBKS did just that signing Iyer for a record-breaking ₹26.75 crore. And he proved his worth, guiding Punjab to their first final in 11 years.

Who Has the Edge?
RCB has beaten PBKS three times this season both league matches and Qualifier 1. But tonight’s final is on unfamiliar ground. RCB hasn’t played a single game this season in Ahmedabad, while PBKS has already played twice here, including a big run chase against Mumbai Indians.
PBKS batters have adjusted to the pitch, bounce, and conditions at Narendra Modi Stadium. Can that experience give them the edge tonight? Or will RCB’s winning momentum carry them all the way?
Get Ready for History
No matter who wins RCB or PBKS a new IPL champion will be born tonight. After 18 seasons, fans will finally witness a team lift the trophy for the very first time.
