Gautam Gambhir Gets Death Threats Again in 2025 After Kashmir Attack

On April 22, 2025, Gautam Gambhir, now the head coach of the Indian cricket team, reportedly received a death threat via email. According to The Times of India, the message included “I KILL YOU.”

This isn’t the first time Gambhir has faced something like this. Back in 2021, when he was a Member of Parliament, he got a similar threat from an email ID linked to a group claiming to be “ISIS Kashmir.” At the time, the case was traced back to Pakistan. Now, in 2025, we’re seeing a nearly identical threat surface again. It raises a lot of concerns — not just for Gambhir’s safety but also for how serious these threats are.

After receiving the email, Gambhir filed a police complaint. The Rajinder Nagar police station has launched an investigation into the matter and is working to trace the origin of the threat.

What makes this even more sensitive is the timing. Just days before the threat emerged, a brutal terror attack in Pahalgam Jammu & Kashmir, left 26 tourists dead , The cricket world, including current and former players, expressed deep sorrow and shock over the attack.

This tragedy has sparked a familiar debate in the cricketing community and beyond: Should India continue playing cricket with Pakistan? Emotions are running high, and this question is bound to resurface more strongly now.

While the latest threat is still being verified, the pattern feels eerily familiar. As of now, it’s unclear if the message is credible or connected to past incidents — but authorities are not taking any chances.

In moments like this, the lines between sports and politics blur. Cricketers are often seen as national icons, and when events like these unfold, the emotional impact ripples far beyond the field.
