- Group Stage Performance: India kicked off their campaign with a solid six-wicket win over Bangladesh. They followed it up with another emphatic six-wicket victory against arch-rivals Pakistan.
- Semi-Final Showdown: India continued their impressive run with a 44-run triumph over New Zealand in the group stage before taking on Australia in the semi-final. In a high-pressure encounter, they secured a four-wicket victory to book their place in the final.
Champions Trophy Final: India vs. New Zealand
The grand finale at Lord’s was a pulsating contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats. New Zealand, batting first, posted a competitive total of 276/8 in 50 overs. Their innings was powered by a resilient 88 from Kane Williamson and a quickfire 47 from Glenn Phillips. India’s bowling attack, led by Jasprit Bumrah (3/42) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/51), ensured the target remained within reach.
Chasing 277, India lost early wickets but found stability in a crucial 112-run partnership between Virat Kohli (78) and Shubman Gill (67). With the match hanging in balance, Hardik Pandya’s unbeaten 45 off 28 balls guided India home in the final over, sealing a four-wicket victory and clinching the Champions Trophy title.
