India began their 5th Test against Australia at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground with high hopes, but things didn’t go as planned on Day 1. After winning the toss and opting to bat first, India was bowled out for a modest 185 runs in 72.2 overs.
Rishabh Pant displayed remarkable patience and composure during India’s challenging innings. His ability to stay at the crease and keep the scoreboard moving was a testament to his adaptability to the conditions. Even though wickets were falling frequently at the other end, Pant held his ground, providing some much-needed stability. His presence helped India weather the difficult moments and allowed the team to manage a tricky situation with a steady hand.

The Indian batsmen faced a well-rounded Australian attack, with the bowlers constantly applying pressure. The inability to form lasting partnerships meant India’s innings never quite gained momentum, and they were eventually dismissed for 185.
