Team India suffered a major blow during the 4th Test match against England at Old Trafford, Manchester, as star wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant sustained an injury to his right foot while batting on Day 1. The injury has ruled him out of wicketkeeping duties for the remainder of the match. However, the left-hander remains available to bat as per the team’s requirement.

Pant, who was looking in good touch, attempted a reverse sweep in the second session on Day 1 and was struck on the right foot. He was clearly in visible discomfort and soon left the field for medical scans. The BCCI Medical Team has since confirmed that they are monitoring his recovery closely.
